ELV/La Crosse WS7078 and ELV PC interface

Hello,

I have a question I thought some of the readers of this forum might be able to help me answer.

Unfortunately I do not speak German, so I'm writing in English, I hope this is not a problem.

I currently own a WS7078 weather station from La Crosse technologies, (although this also appears to be sold by ELV and others).  This weather station uses remote temperature sensors with La Crosse model numbers like TX2U,TX3U, and TX4U.  (It appears ELV has a sensor equivalent to the TX3U listed as item 68-398-95 on their web site.)

I would like to be able to receive the transmisstions from the remote sensors at my PC, and I'm wondering if I could use the ELV PC interface kit (item 68-390-61 on their web site).

The reason I believe this might work is that on the back of my TX3U is the FCC ID: OMO-01TX.  When I look this ID up on the FCC web page at:

http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=49573&native_or_pdf=pdf

I see a picture and description that leads me to believe the TX3U measures the temperature and then transmits the information using an HFS 300 S module that looks very similar to the ELV item 68-409-64.

I also believe the ELV PC interface kit (68-390-61) uses an HFS301 (68-409-66) modules (based on an email from Volker Jahns whose web site http://wth.berlios.de has some info).

So my question comes down to this: Will the ELV PC interface kit (based on the HFS301) receive signals from ELV item 68-398-95 which uses an HFS 300 module (item 68-409-64) to transmit?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Mark Bushman
