Hello all .
Today i experiment to see if the La-crosse 2300 it work with 40 meters
more cable from console to Thermo-hygro sensor, and 20 meters from
anemometer to Thermo -hygro sensor, and all work very fine !.

Hello,

it might be possible, but (!), you should replace the cable between the aneometer an the externel basis with a shielded one.

The programmer of the linux-software "open2300" has a good information about this work:
http://www.lavrsen.dk/sources/weather/windmod.htm

The cable between my external basis an the display (i don't use the wireless transmission) is around 15 meters.

I replace the cable with a (shielded) type for telefon. This cable is 2x2x0.6mm an shielded.

This kind of cable can be get by www.conrad.com
(Type 60 64 05 -I5)
Conrad name it "J-Y(ST)Y 2x2x0.6 grey (FIL.100123)"

Hello Lazarus and thank you , i know about shield cable from Lavrsen.
I see and your web site is very nice ,i see we have almost the same Stevenson Screen box  :-)  ;-)

I have one qustion for you ,i see you have and the new anemometers la-crosse with cups ,you observe something else about the other anemometer with propelle ?

Thanks

Zitat von: "weather1967"I have one qustion for you ,i see you have and the new anemometers la-crosse with cups ,you observe something else about the other anemometer with propelle ?

The impeller anemometer has two big disadvantages:

1. Low wind speeds: While the cup anemometer runs from zero speed on at very low speeds (independent from the direction of the wind vane), the impeller anemometer needs a wind that is strong enough so that the wind vane turns itself towards the wind. If the wind is too slow, the wind vane does not move. If the wind vane does not move into the wind, you will receive a "0.0" wind speed, even if there is a slowly going wind.

2. Not so perfect anemometer locations: If the anemometer is mounted too low over the ground or at a location near buildings/trees where air turbulences can occur, there is a problem with quickly changing directions of turbulent wind: The wind vane does not stand firmly in the wind, but it turns left and right and left and right in the turbulent air. In that case you will also measure wind speeds much too low with the impeller anemometer.

The impeller anemometer measures wind speeds that are OK, if the wind is strong enough to turn the wind vane and if it is mounted 10 m above ground in a stable air flow. In other cases, such as low wind speeds and mounted in turbulent air flow conditions, the cup anemometer will get much better wind speeds.

Thank you Jusch
I understand very well where is the problem about impeller anemometer, something this i supposed, but i  wanted to learn from someone where he has it .
